A Torxe power cell is a form of deep cycle battery that can be used as a backup power supply for car stereo systems. It will take the strain off your starting battery and alternator when you play your stereo and it’s a perfect addition if you play your music a lot with the engine off. AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) technology has many advantages for this application. A Torxe AGM power cell is a type of lead acid battery, but unlike a conventional battery with liquid electrolyte, in the Torxe AGM power cell the electrolyte is absorbed within fiberglass mat that is sandwiched between the lead plates.
This construction stabilizes and supports the plates, allowing them to be made of almost pure lead for longer service life and greater amp hour capacity. A Torxe AGM power cell also has very low internal resistance, which allows it to deliver higher amperage for better performance and faster recharge, and it can be charge/discharge cycled repeatedly with up to 80% depth of discharge. A Torxe AGM power cell is completely sealed and maintenance-free. It won’t vent corrosive gases and there’s no risk of electrolyte spillage, so it can safely be mounted in any position. The tightly packed plates and saturated glass mats also make the Torxe AGM power cell exceptionally resistant to damage from vibration.
