Here is a nice grouping of vintage political pins (buttons) from the 1940's for Presidential candidate Thomas E. Dewey. Five different pins, 3 tin litho, one celluloid, and one molded plastic. All 5 on for one low price. Guaranteed vintage, not modern day reproductions. First is a very scarce, plastic pin, approx 1.625" in diameter, molded white plastic (with a "wave" in it, not flat - this is how this was made, it has NOT melted or disformed, with a molded blue elephant on it, with engraved lettring highilghed in red: Dewey Warren. Nice Red,White, & Blue pin and one that I have only seen twice in my life. Marked on back: The Felt Critters Plaistow, N.H. #2: Celluloid molded pin in the form of an elephant, embossed Dewey, approx 0.75" long by 0.50" tall, molded one piece with a circular piece on back that would have fit into a button hole - likely to be worn as a cuff link or shirt collar button. Very scarce, have only seen a few of these in my collecting career. #3: tin litho, red, white & blue, approx 0.75" diameter, Dewey Warren with 4 stars. Marked on edge: Green Buck Co. Chicago. #4: tin litho, white & blue, approx 0.75" diameter, Clean House with Dewey (picture of broom in action). Marked on edge: Green Duck Co. Chicago. #5: tin litho, white & blue, approx 0.75" diameter, DEWEY. Stamped on inside back of pin with Green Duck logo including picture of a duck.
The Felt Critters of Plaistow, N.H. was a dba of the Keezer Manufacturing Company which was most famously known for manufacturing felt pennants and patches in the 1920's thru 1985 when they closed, including some presidential pennants. This pin is an unusual political item made by this company.
All pins are Very Good to Near Mint, NO damage. Just some minor light wear from use. #5 has a little more wear than the others with a couple small green paint spots. See pictures above. I grade this grouping an 8 to 9.5 on a scale of 1 to 10.
