    Description

A Kamov K-17 taking off from a truck
Photo taken in 1948, somewhere, in Soviet Union or in East Germany.
The Kamov helicopter designs are one-place coaxial rotor types, called Vertolet (Veritcal Flyer). The K-17 appeared in 1948. The prototype utilized two three-blade rotors with tapered blades. This were driven by an Aubier-Dunn type engine.
This rare picture shows the original version: an open framework carrying two pontoons. Around 1950, a later model appeared with the pilot enclosed in a cabin.
Vintage printed picture (not a silver print as we used to sell), released circa 1960, in West or East Germany.
Caption in German on the back.
