Description
On sale!CBS Scientific EPS-300IIV 300V Power Supply for electrophoresis, or electronic circuit testing.
The supply is not sensitive to ground, and no ground leak protection. So this makes the supply possible to use for electronic testing, such as tube audio circuits.
Please note, these power supplies have "No DC load" protection, and a minimum of 4mA load is needed, for the power supply to put out DC voltage. No DC load on the supply's output will trigger the supply into protection, and the front panel display will indicate E1 error code, if the supply detects no DC load is on the supply's DC output terminals.
The power supply has a small cooling fan, so there is a little bit of fan noise, but not very loud.
All power supplies are in good used condition, with minor wear and minor scratches.
All power supplies are tested with a load resistor at full voltage and full current, as you can see in the photos.
Photo #1 is indicating voltage output of 300V,
Photo #2 is indicating 298 mA current, with a 1000 ohm resistor as a current load.
Ratings:
AC power: 120 VAC @ 2A max.
Volts output: 10-300 volts.
Current: 4-300mA @ 10-300V.
Output power rating: 90 watts cont. 100 watts intermittent.
Power supplies have been fully tested for proper operation.
You will receive a working power supply.
*No other accessories come with this power supply.
*The supply uses standard IEC type power cord, not included.
*There are no test leads included with the supply.
*The photos in the ad are photos of one of the supplies from the lot, so the cosmetics of the supply will slightly vary. Overall, they are all in good condition, with some light marks and/or blemishes here and there.
These supplies were very expensive, when they were new, so this sale price for a variable switching power supply is really a bargain!
Here is some advise, if you are planning to use the supplys for audio usage...
All these electrophoresis types of switching power supplys have very low value internal filter capacitor, good enough for using the supply for electrophoresis use.
If you plan to use these supplys for powering audio circuits, then it would be good to add a 300V, or higher rated, with at least 100uF, or higher, filter capacitor with a 100K / 1 watt bleeder resistor parallel with the capacitor, on any of the 3 pairs DC outputs, or you can add a filter capacitor inside the power supply.
If the audio circuits already have filter capacitors in the circuit, then maybe no additional filter capacitors are required to add to the DC output.
